Alif International

The Alif International office is on Sewri Cross Road in Sewri. If you’ve been to this part of town, you know it’s near the docks and there are trucks everywhere. The air smells like the sea and old wood sometimes. We do international trade work, which mostly means a lot of phone calls and even more paperwork. The office is tucked away in a building that has seen a lot of history. It’s not very modern, but it gets the job done. We have stacks of documents on every table and the computers are always humming. Most of the guys here wear plain shirts and just get on with it. We don’t really care much for appearances. It’s more about making sure the containers are where they are supposed to be. Sometimes there are delays at the port and everyone gets a bit stressed out. That’s just part of being in Sewri, I guess. We usually grab a quick bite from the stalls nearby for lunch. It’s noisy outside with the honking and the loading, but inside we just focus on the screens. It’s a long day most of the time. We’ve been here for years, and we know the rhythms of the neighborhood. It’s just a place where we work and try to keep things moving across the borders. No frills, just business. The walls are covered in calendars and maps that have been there since I can remember. We just keep track of time and shipments and try not to get too behind.
