Alfa Carpeting Company

If you find yourself near the Ritz Hotel in Churchgate, you are probably not far from our door. We are in Oriental House, at 7 J. Tala Road. Being in this part of Mumbai is something else. The building has that old-school feel to it, and the street outside is always humming with people heading toward the station or coming from the hotels. Alfa Carpeting Company has been here for a good while. We deal in all sorts of carpeting, and the shop is usually filled with the sound of the fans humming and the distant noise of the city traffic. We have rolls of carpet stacked up high, and the air always has that faint woolly smell. It is a bit cramped inside Oriental House because we try to keep as much stock as possible on hand for our customers. We spend our time measuring out lengths and talking to folks who need something for their office or home. We aren't a big corporate chain; we are just a local spot where we know the name of the guy who brings the mail. Sometimes we stand out by the entrance just to get a bit of fresh air and watch the cars go by on J. Tala Road. It is a busy life, but we like the energy of Churchgate. We just keep our heads down, handle the carpets, and make sure we are ready for whoever walks through the door next. It is just a regular workday for us.
