Alena Fab

Alena Fab is tucked away in Andheri East. We work out of Flat No. 8 on the first floor of Shree Sahyog Society. It is on Sir M V Road in the Varma Nagar area of J B Nagar. Since we are in a residential society, it doesn't feel like a typical factory or store. It is much quieter than the main road outside. We deal with various fabrics and textile goods. Our space is basically a few rooms filled with rolls of cloth and sample books. It’s not a place for browsing like a mall. Most people who come here already know what they are looking for. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking emails to coordinate deliveries. We don't have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. One minute we are checking the quality of a fabric and the next we are packing boxes. It is a small operation and we like it that way because we can see everything that’s going on. The society gate is easy to find, and once you are inside, we are just one flight of stairs up. We don't spend money on fancy brochures. We just focus on getting the right fabrics to the people who order them. It feels good to be away from the chaos of the main station area even though it is just a short trip away. It is a practical business and we’ve been doing it from this same flat for a good while now.
