You can find Al-Anwar Mfg & Trading Co. over at Husainya Marg. We are in the Poonawala Building, up on the first floor in Room 1. It’s a bit of an old building, but it suits us just fine. We do a mix of making things and trading others. It keeps the days interesting because you never quite know what’s going to be the priority when you walk in. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, and sometimes it gets crowded in the hallway. We've been in this spot for a while. There’s always someone coming in to talk about an order or check on some stock. We don’t have a flashy showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just desks, samples, and people working. Some days it’s quiet and we get through the ledger, other days it’s hectic with deliveries. Trading involves a lot of back and forth on the phone. We try to keep things honest and straightforward with everyone. If a shipment is late, we say so. If we can't get a specific material, we look for another way. It’s just how it goes in this part of town. We’ve known the other shop owners on Husainya Marg for years. It feels like a real community. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. We aren't perfect, but we try hard every single day to get things right and keep the business moving forward for our families.
