Afrin Herbal Mehandi

If you walk down Saifee Jubilee Street in Bohri Mohalla, you will find us at 31/33. It is a very busy part of Masjid Bunder-West and there is always a lot of shouting and bikes going past. We deal with herbal mehandi here and the whole shop usually smells like dried leaves and henna. It is a small space so we have to keep things stacked up high. Most of our neighbors are other small shops and everyone knows everyone else. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the street is so narrow that the carts can't get through easily. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and making sure the packets are sorted out. It is dusty work and our hands often end up getting stained from the henna powder. We don't have any big signs or fancy lights. People just know where we are because we have been in this spot for years. The building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you come in. We just focus on getting the mehandi out to the people who need it. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down and the street market starts to close up. There is a lot of tea drinking and talking with the regular customers who stop by just to say hello and see what is new.
