Adarsh Dry Fruit General Stores

If you walk down toward Old Laxman in Goregaon East, you’ll find us at Shop Number 12 on the ground floor. It’s called Shre, well, that’s part of the building name. We’ve got bags of almonds, cashews, and raisins piled up. It’s a general store too, so we keep the basic stuff people need for their kitchens. The smell of the spices and the nuts hits you as soon as you step inside. It’s a small space, so things are stacked pretty high. I spend most of my day weighing out portions into plastic bags. Some customers are very picky about the size of the cashews, and I have to show them different batches until they’re satisfied. We get a lot of people coming in before festivals because they need gifts or ingredients for sweets. The floor is a bit uneven, and the fan makes a clicking noise that I’ve stopped noticing after all these years. Goregaon is always noisy, but inside the shop, it feels a bit more grounded. We don't do home delivery usually unless it’s for an old lady living right around the corner who can’t carry the heavy bags. It’s just a shop. We open early, sweep the front, and stay open until the last regular customer finishes their shopping. It’s honest work and we’ve been part of this street for a long time.
