Fashion Life Garment

Our workshop is located at No. 1 Nav Jeevan Society in the Aarey Milk Colony part of Goregaon East. It is a green area but our little corner is filled with the sound of sewing machines from morning until late evening. We have about six people working here on any given day. The space is a bit tight because we have to store all the fabric rolls along the walls. We mostly focus on making everyday clothes like shirts and simple trousers. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you visit, you will just see us at our tables or behind the machines. The light comes in through the small windows and we use big overhead bulbs when it gets dark. My cousin handles the cutting while I look after the finishing and packing. Aarey can be a bit out of the way for some, but we like it here. The neighbors are used to the noise of the motors. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. Most of our work comes from local shops that need stock. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It is just a small business trying to keep up with the orders. We don't rush the work because we want the seams to stay put. It is a lot of repetitive movement, but we are used to it by now.
