Our little space is over in Khar West, tucked away in Shyam Niwas. It is a ground floor spot, specifically Flat No A 1, so nobody has to climb any stairs to reach us. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, though you get the usual sounds of the city drifting in from the street. Being in a residential building like this makes the whole place feel different than a tall office block. We have a small area where we keep all our things. It is not very big, but we make it work for our daily needs. Most of the time, Aaira is just a few of us sitting around, working on whatever needs doing. The light comes in through the front window in the afternoon. We do not have a big sign outside, just the name on the door like everyone else in the building. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to say hello or ask about something. We have grown used to the way the pipes hum and the sound of the main gate opening and closing. It is a very normal environment. No one wears suits or anything fancy. We just show up, do the work, and go home. Finding a flat on the ground floor was lucky because it makes moving stuff in and out much easier. We keep the kettle going for most of the morning. It is not a polished setup, but for us, it feels right. There is a small patch of green outside that we look at sometimes when things get busy.
