A Schezwan Pepper

Our place is right in the Kala Ghoda area. It’s a neighborhood with a lot of history and old buildings, and we really like being part of it. We focus on food with a bit of a kick to it. We aren't some big corporate chain with a manual for everything. We just have a kitchen and a few people who know how to use a wok. The smell of peppers and garlic is pretty much stuck in the walls by now, which isn't a bad thing. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right spices because if the pepper isn't right, the whole dish feels off. It’s a small space, so it gets pretty lively when the dinner rush starts. We don't have fancy uniforms or a polished greeting for when you walk in. We just show you to a table and get the food out as fast as we can. Sometimes we get a bit overwhelmed when it’s busy, but we do our best to keep up. We like the vibe of Kala Ghoda, with all the art and the people walking around. It feels like the right place for us. We don't do much advertising at all. Most people just find us while they are exploring the streets nearby or following the smell of the kitchen. It’s just a straightforward eatery where we cook what we like and hope you enjoy the heat. It’s a busy life but we enjoy the work.
