A. Ahammed Joo is located inside the Oberoi Towers at Nariman Point. We’re on the H.C. Level, unit F-49. Being in a place like Nariman Point means it’s always busy around here. There are a lot of offices and people in suits everywhere. Our shop is a bit more relaxed than the big banks around us. We spend our time managing the daily tasks and talking to the people who drop by. It’s a good location, even if the rent is what you’d expect for this part of the city. We’ve been here long enough to see the view change quite a bit. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us doing our thing. We don’t have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. Sometimes it’s quiet, and sometimes three people walk in at once. We just take it as it comes. The air conditioning in the towers is a relief during the summer months, that's for sure. We keep the place tidy but it’s definitely a working space. We don't put on airs just because we’re in a famous building. We’re just a regular business doing regular work. Most of our day is spent on the phone or looking over the inventory. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve grown to like over the years. If you’re near the towers, we’re not too hard to find. We usually have the radio playing low in the background while we sort through the paperwork.
