Sardar Patel High School

Sardar Patel High School is right here in Chotila, Surendranagar. It’s been sitting on this same spot for a good while now. Most people around here know where we are. Every morning, the gates open and the kids start coming in from the nearby villages and the town itself. It gets pretty loud once they all arrive, but that’s just how it is. We’ve got the usual classrooms with the wooden desks and blackboards. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise when it’s hot out, but we just keep going. The staff room is usually a mess of papers and lunch boxes. We try to keep the playground clear, but with so many kids running around, there’s always a bit of dust. It’s a practical place, really. We don’t have any fancy gadgets in every room, just the basics that get the job done. Teaching is hard work, especially when the weather in Gujarat gets really warm in the afternoons. But we’ve got a routine. The bell rings at the same time every day, and everyone knows where they’re supposed to be. Parents stop by the office to talk about fees or how their kids are doing, and we just sit and chat. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local school trying to get through the curriculum and make sure the students learn something useful before they head home to help their families or do their chores. That's about it for us.
