Shri Uttar Buniyadi Kanya Vidyalaya

Out in Chotila, within the Surendranagar district, our school for girls has its home. Shri Uttar Buniyadi Kanya Vidyalaya is a place that feels very connected to the local town life. We are not a big, flashy institution. The building is simple, made of stone and concrete, and it has stood the test of time and weather. Inside, the classrooms are filled with girls from the surrounding villages and the town itself. We focus on the basics of a good education. The teachers here are dedicated, often staying late to help someone who is struggling with their lessons. We do not have a website that is updated every day or a dedicated marketing person on staff. Most of what happens here is managed through old-fashioned ledgers and handwritten notebooks. The playground is a bit uneven, but it serves its purpose during the lunch break. We deal with the heat of Gujarat and the dust that comes with the dry season. It is a very grounded environment. Parents know us as a safe and reliable place for their daughters to study. We do not use fancy language to describe what we do here. It is just about getting the girls through their school years so they have a chance at a decent future. Life in Chotila is quiet, and our school fits right into that. We take things one day at a time.
