Shri Ranagadh Madhyamik Shala

Our school sits right in the middle of Ranagadh. It’s a quiet enough place overall, though the school itself gets quite noisy during the middle of the day. Shri Ranagadh Madhyamik Shala is where the local kids come after they finish their primary school years. It’s in Surendra Nagar, so the climate is exactly what you’d expect for this part of Gujarat. We spend a lot of our time just making sure the classes run on time and everyone is where they should be. There is always someone needing help with a government form or a student who forgot their bag in the yard. We don't have a lot of extra stuff like fancy labs. The main focus is always on what happens in the classroom. The building is getting older, but it holds up well enough for our needs. We have a small staff and we all know each other pretty well. Most of the students are from the farms or the small shops around the 363427 area. They bring their lunch in steel boxes and sit together under the trees if the sun isn't too hot. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many kids, there’s always a little bit of a mess to clean up. It’s a real place with real people working here. We don’t put up big signs about being the best in the state. We just do the teaching and the students do their learning. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep the windows open for extra light.
