Shree B H Gardi U. B. Vidyalaya

Out here in Muli, the days are usually hot and the wind blows a lot of dust around. Shree B H Gardi U. B. Vidyalaya is right in the middle of it all in the Surendranagar district. It’s a sturdy building, meant to handle the Gujarat sun. We have a lot of kids who walk a good distance to get here every morning. You can see them coming down the road in their uniforms while the town is still waking up. The school doesn’t have many frills. We have our classrooms, a small area for sports, and an office where all the paperwork piles up. The desks are old wood, and they creak when the students sit down. We spend most of our time just keeping things moving. There is always a list of things to do, like repairing a fence or making sure there is enough chalk for the week. The 363510 area is a quiet place for the most part, except for when the kids are at recess. Then it’s all shouting and running around until the bell rings again. We aren’t doing anything fancy here. It is just about providing a place for the local kids to be during the day. Sometimes we have community meetings in the yard, and it feels like the whole town is involved. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us all very busy with the day-to-day school business.
