Udipi Dosa Express

Our shop is number 27 on the ground floor of the PVS Mall in Shastri Nagar. Being inside a mall in Meerut is a bit different from having a shop on the street. We have to follow the mall hours, so we start a bit later than some other places. The PVS Multiplex is right here, so we get a lot of people coming in before or after their movies. On Saturday and Sunday, it’s a bit of a madhouse with kids running around and families looking for a place to sit. We only have a few tables, so people often have to wait or share a table with strangers. We don't mind, and usually the customers don't either. The kitchen is small and it gets very hot in there, even with the mall's air conditioning trying to help out. We’ve been here since the mall was quite new. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to close down and do it. We use regular plates and the staff wears simple shirts. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just make the food and hope the electricity doesn't go out, which happens sometimes in Shastri Nagar. It’s just a normal business trying to get through the day. We see the same mall security guards every day and they always say hello. It is a decent place to work.
