Tahzeb Restaurant

Tahzeb Restaurant sits on Kila Road in Abdullapur. If you are around Meerut - 250001, you might have passed by us without thinking much of it. We open up pretty early to get the kitchen going. The smell of the stoves usually starts around nine in the morning. It is a busy street, so there is always a lot of noise from the traffic outside while people are trying to eat their lunch. We have a few tables that wobble a bit, so we usually stick a piece of folded cardboard under the legs to keep them steady for the customers. The walls have been painted a couple of times but the steam from the cooking always makes the paint look old after just a few months. Most of our regulars come from the nearby houses in Abdullapur. They do not even ask for a menu anymore; they just know what they want. It is a lot of washing dishes and chopping onions in the back. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the old lanterns, which makes the whole place look different for a while. It is not a place with a lot of decorations or soft music playing. It is just where people come to fill their stomachs before going back to work or heading home. The staff has been the same for years now. We know whose bike is parked outside just by looking.
