Shree Vasudev Restaurant

We are located on the Delhi-Roorkee Byepass in Meerut City. It’s right near the MIET college and the Baghpat Road crossing. Shree Vasudev Restaurant gets a lot of students coming in between their classes. They’re usually in a hurry and looking for something cheap to eat. I’ve been running this place with a couple of cooks for a few years now. The bypass is always loud with big trucks going towards Delhi. It gets really dusty inside, so we are always wiping the counters down with an old rag. We have some wooden chairs and tables that have seen better days. I usually sit near the cash box and watch the door. The food is just what we know how to make. Nothing from a fancy menu book. We get the vegetables from the local mandi early in the morning. Sometimes the stove acts up and we have to fix it while people are waiting. It’s a bit stressful then. But mostly it is just a routine. I know most of the regular drivers who stop here for a tea break. We don't have any air conditioning, just some big pedestal fans that rattle a bit. In the winter it gets really cold so we keep the kitchen door open to let the heat out. It’s just a roadside spot for people to eat and move on. Not much else to tell. We just do our work.
