Sabir Tandoor

We have been running our tandoor in Ahmed Nagar for a long time. Our address is house number 511, right here in Meerut City. It’s a small place in a narrow lane, but the neighbors know us well. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. The heat from the tandoor is what lets you know you’re in the right place. We start our work early to get the coal burning just right. It’s mostly take-away because we don't have much room for people to sit. People come by in the evening after work to get fresh roti and meat. We use the same spice mixes my father used. We don't follow any corporate rules or have fancy packaging. Everything is wrapped in paper and put in a bag. It’s a bit of a struggle in the summer with the heat, but we stay at it. Meerut is a loud, busy place and our street is no different. There are always kids playing outside and bikes zooming past. We know most of our customers by their first names. We don't do any advertising. If the food is good, people come back. That's the only logic we follow. We aren't trying to expand or open new branches. We just want to keep the tandoor going and serve the local community. It’s just a small family business tucked away in Ahmed Nagar. We keep it simple and honest. We stay open until the dough is finished for the night.
