Maha Raja Shikanji Restaurant

You can find us in Kadrabad, right on NH 58 on the main road from Delhi to Meerut. We’re in Mohiuddinpur, and since we face the main road, you can’t really miss us if you’re driving by. Most people know us for the shikanji, which is what we’ve been doing for a long time. It’s a busy highway, so there is always a lot of dust and the sound of trucks passing by. We built this place to give drivers and families a spot to stretch their legs. It’s not a fancy dining hall. It’s a practical roadside restaurant. We have rows of tables and a big area where we mix the drinks. On hot days, it gets incredibly busy and we’re constantly squeezing lemons and mixing spices. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The floor is plain and the walls are simple. It’s the kind of place where you stop because you’re thirsty or hungry from the road. We’ve been here for years, watching the traffic change on NH 58. Some of the drivers have been stopping here for a decade. We recognize their faces even if we don't know their names. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the highway crowd, but it’s what we do. We open early and stay open until the traffic thins out at night. It’s just a regular highway stop where you get what you see.
