Jamira Vidyasagar Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Jamira village, right here in the Chowka area of Paschim Medinipur. It's a quiet spot, and most of us here have spent our whole lives working with the soil. This company was put together so we could handle things better as a group. Being out in Midnapore, we see how much work goes into the fields every day. It's not always easy, especially with the weather and getting things to market, but we just keep at it. Our office is at house number 01, which is easy enough to find if you're passing through. We started this because doing things alone wasn't cutting it anymore. Now, we try to coordinate what we grow and how we manage the harvests. Most of the people involved are just local folks who know the land. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It's mostly just sitting down and figuring out the day's tasks. Sometimes we get together to talk about seed prices or where to sell the next batch of crops. It is a slow process, building something like this in a small village, but it feels right for our community. We deal with the usual stuff farmers face in West Bengal. It’s practical work. We are not trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off a bit better for everyone around here. It takes a lot of patience and daily effort.
