We are based in Kanlla village, right in the Murshidabad district. The company runs out of Manasaram Ghosh’s place, which isn't some fancy office building, just a normal spot where we can sit and talk about our farming work. Most of us here have spent our entire lives in these fields around Burwan. We got together to form this group because doing everything alone was getting too expensive and difficult. We share our tools and try to figure out where to sell our crops so we don’t lose money. It’s hard work and the weather doesn't always play nice with us. Some seasons the rain is too much, and other times it’s not enough, but we just keep going. We aren't business experts with degrees; we’re just people who know how to grow things in this soil. Usually, you’ll find us out checking the crops or talking to the other members near the Nabadurgap post office. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on getting the harvest ready and making sure our families have what they need. It’s a very local thing, and we like keeping it that way. Everyone puts in their fair share of work. If you walk through the village, you’ll see what we’re about without us having to say much. It’s just honest work under the sun every day of the week and we wouldn't have it any other way.
