Dantan Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of the Datan Manav Kalyan Kendra. We are located in the Krishnapur area of West Midnapore. Specifically, you can find us care of Subhashis Maikap. This isn't a big corporate setup. It is more of a community hub where farmers from the Dnt.Mid (W) region come together. We try to help each other with things like fertilizers and selling what we grow. The work is mostly based in the villages around Midnapore-721426. We spend a lot of time on the ground, literally. Dealing with the soil and the crops takes up almost all our hours. Being a producer company means we are owned by the farmers themselves. We don't have any outside bosses telling us what to do. It can be a bit disorganized at times because there are so many of us involved. We have meetings at the Kendra to talk about water issues or crop prices. It’s very practical and down-to-earth. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to make sure that the people in Krishnapur get a fair deal for their hard work. Sometimes we run into problems with transport or storage, but we just try to solve them as they come. It’s a local effort through and through, run by people who actually live here. We just want to keep the farms going for the next generation.
