Chotokulgachi Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are Chotokulgachi Farmers Producer Company Limited. You can find us at Dulal Ch Ghosh’s place in the village of Chhotokulgachipo, which is near Agradwip in the Burdwan area. This is a local thing we started to help all the farmers in our neighborhood. We grow mostly traditional crops that work well in this part of Burdwan. It is a lot of manual labor, and we do not have much in the way of big machines or technology. We rely on each other a lot for everything. If someone’s crop is doing poorly, we try to sit down and figure out why. We do not have a mission statement or any of that corporate stuff. We just want to farm and get a fair price for what we grow. The village is quiet, and we like it that way. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so we know the land around here pretty well. This company is just a way for us to be more organized with our business. We meet at Dulal’s place to talk about what we need to buy or where we are going to sell the next harvest. It is not always easy, and sometimes we have disagreements about things, but that is just part of being in a group. We are just regular people from Chotokulgachi trying to make a living from the soil. We don't want to be fancy. We just want to work.
