St Vivekanand Girls School

This school is located in the 4th Block of Krishnapura, which is over in the Surathkal part of town. We are a school specifically for girls, and we’ve been operating in this neighborhood for many years. The area is mostly residential, so a lot of our students just walk from their homes nearby. It’s a fairly quiet corner of Mangalore, away from the main highway noise. The building is simple and serves its purpose. We have classrooms that are usually full of talk and activity until the teacher walks in. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have the basics like books, benches, and a small area for the girls to hang out during their breaks. The staff is mostly made up of women who live around Surathkal or Krishnapura. We don't go in for big advertisements or try to sound like something we aren't. We are just a local girls' school trying to help the neighborhood kids get through their studies. Each morning starts with a prayer and the usual roll call. Sometimes the monsoon rains make it hard to get to school, but most of the time, things run like clockwork. We spend the hours on the daily lessons and making sure the students are prepared for their tests. It’s a practical place with a lot of history in this specific block of the town and we are happy to be a part of it.
