St Stephens Sr Sec School

If you head over to Bhavanthi Street in Mangalore, you will find us on the second floor of Om Chambers. St Stephens Sr Sec School is right there in the middle of a busy commercial area. Being on the second floor means we are a bit removed from the street noise, though you can still hear the city moving below us. It’s a different kind of school setup because we are in an office building rather than a sprawling campus. We have made the most of the space we have. The hallways are a bit narrow and the classrooms are packed in, but it works for what we need. Students come here for their senior secondary years, so they are a bit older and more focused. Mangalore is a coastal city, and it gets very humid, so we keep the windows open when we can. Om Chambers is a well-known building, which helps people find us easily. We don't have a big playground out front, but we focus on the books and the lessons. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-drunk cups of tea. It’s a busy place. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy décor. The walls have a few posters and that’s about it. We just provide a place for students to study and get their certificates. It’s a simple, honest operation running right in the heart of the city. We open the doors early and stay until the last student leaves.
