St Vincent High School

We sit up on Maryhill, right along the Airport Road in the Konchady area. It’s a decent spot because it’s a bit elevated and the air feels okay. Most people in Mangalore know the way to the airport, so finding us isn't usually a problem. We are a high school, so we deal with the older kids who are getting ready for their exams and whatever comes next. The school has been around for a good while. The walls might need a bit of paint here and there, but the building is sturdy. We have a lot of stairs because of the hilly area. It gets quite busy when the planes go overhead or when there is a lot of traffic heading out of the city. Our staff mostly consists of locals who have been teaching for years. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the gates in the morning and close them once the last student leaves in the evening. There is a routine to everything we do. We have the usual sports day and the annual functions that every school has. It's not a fancy place, just a regular high school where students come to get their work done. We see a lot of rain during the monsoon, and the yard gets a bit muddy, but we manage. We spend the day on the books and making sure the kids know their subjects before the end of the term. It is a simple life here.
