Bharawara Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of the village of Bharwara in the Panwari area of Mahoba. Bhan Prakash is the person who looks after the main operations from his home. Mahoba can be a dry and difficult place for farming, so we realized a long time ago that we are stronger if we work as one unit. We don't have a big office building or any corporate polish. Our office is usually wherever we happen to be standing at the time. We are all farmers first. This company was started just to handle the business side of things, like buying inputs and selling our grain or vegetables. It’s a simple setup. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just try to get a fair deal for the people living in Bharwara and the surrounding areas. Bhan Prakash keeps the books and makes sure we follow the rules. It’s a lot of work, especially during the harvest season when everyone is tired. We don't have any promotional materials. If you live around here, you already know who we are. We just do our best with the land we have. It’s a quiet, busy life, and we wouldn't know how to do it any other way. We are just local folks helping other local folks. It’s as basic as that.
