Piplaj Dal Batti Restaurant

We’ve been here at 8 Sakar for a good while now. Being on Nagalpur College Road means we see a lot of students and folks working in the Industrial Estate nearby. It gets pretty loud with the highway traffic just outside, but you get used to the sound of trucks and buses passing by all day. Our spot is right across from Wide Angel, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The Khari River isn't too far away, though you can't really see it from the front door. The tea guy who sets up near the entrance sometimes brings us snacks. The place itself is nothing too fancy. We have the usual tables and chairs, and the kitchen gets quite hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the building. Dal Batti takes time to get right, so there is always something bubbling or baking in the back. Some days the fans don't seem to do much, but we keep them running anyway. We mostly just focus on getting the food out to people who are hungry after a long shift at the industrial plants. It’s a lot of work keeping everything clean with all the dust that comes off the road. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floors. Usually, things quiet down a bit in the late evening, but then the highway lights come on and it’s a different kind of busy. We don’t have any big signs or anything, just the name on the wall. It's just a regular place where people eat.
