Sg Mechanical Works

Sg Mechanical Works is over at D-123, right near the Water Works in the Focal Point area. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the clanging of metal before you see the sign. It’s a workshop, through and through. We have grease on our hands most of the day and there are parts scattered around on the benches. It’s how we like it. The building is just a simple shed-style structure that gives us enough room for the lathes and the welding equipment. Being near the Water Works means we have a good landmark, which helps since the industrial blocks can all look the same after a while. We don't have a fancy office or a place to sit and have tea, we usually just stand around the machines. It’s hard work, and the summer heat makes it even tougher inside the shop. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. We know our machines and we know how to fix things when they break down. It’s just me and a couple of other guys doing the mechanical work. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork, unless we really have to. Most of our day is spent actually doing the work with our hands. It’s a loud, messy, and honest way to make a living. We just keep the doors open and get to work every morning. It's tiring, but we finish what we start.
