A.S. Mechanical Works

Our shop is located right on Majestic Road, just a short walk from the Dhaliwal Hospital. If you're looking for us, you'll probably hear the sound of metal hitting metal before you see the sign. We do all sorts of mechanical work here, so the floor is usually a bit greasy and there are parts scattered around the workbenches. It is a small place, but we have enough room to get the repairs done. Most of us have grease under our fingernails by lunch time. We don't have a front desk or a waiting room with a television. Usually, people just stand around the entrance or sit on one of the old wooden stools we have while they wait. The traffic on Majestic Road never really stops, so it can get pretty loud in the afternoon. We have been working at this location for quite a while and the locals know us pretty well. Sometimes we stay late when a difficult job comes in, just trying to figure out why a machine isn't running right. We don't use a lot of high-tech tools, mostly just the wrenches and hammers we've had for years. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We like the neighborhood and the people who stop by just to chat for a minute while we work on their equipment. The nearby hospital parking is always full, so people often end up blocking our driveway, which is a bit of a daily struggle.
