Janak Raj & Brothers

Janak Raj & Brothers has been operating out of Vishwakarma Town for quite some time now. You can find us at 12628/1, tucked away near Radha Govind Park. Being so close to Sangeet Cinema means we get a lot of noise when the movies let out, but you get used to it after a few years. My brothers and I take turns opening up the shop in the morning. It’s a family thing, so there’s usually some arguing about who didn’t put the tools back in the right place or who forgot to lock the side gate. The floor is concrete and stays cold in the winter, which makes your feet ache by the end of a long shift. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes finding a specific part requires a tall ladder and a bit of luck. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep our energy up. It’s not a glamorous job, and our hands are usually stained with something that won't wash off easily. We just try to stay on top of the orders and make sure the paperwork doesn't pile up too high on the desk. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they saw our building while walking through the park.
