Dogra Dhaba

Dogra Dhaba sits right on the Main Bharat Nagar Road in Ludhiana. We are almost directly opposite the ESI Hospital, which makes us easy to spot if you are in the area. It is a noisy road with lots of trucks and cars passing by, but that’s Ludhiana for you. The dhaba is a simple setup. We have the stove going most of the time, and the smell of cooking usually drifts out onto the sidewalk. We get a lot of workers and people visiting the hospital. They just want something hot and quick to eat. We don't have a fancy decor, just some sturdy tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use. My brother and I run the place along with a couple of helpers. It gets sweaty in the kitchen, especially during the summer heat. We keep the water cold and the food fresh. It’s not the kind of place you go for a romantic date, but it’s where you go when you’re hungry and want a full plate. We’ve been on Bharat Nagar Road for quite some time, and we know most of the shopkeepers around here. It’s a community of sorts. We just keep our heads down and keep the pots stirring. That is our daily life. When the evening comes, the lights go on and it feels a bit different, but the work stays the same. We just want to serve a decent meal.
