Durga Puri is a busy spot, especially being so close to the Butbhavani Temple. Our place at 817 is right in the thick of things. You can often hear the temple bells ringing during the morning and evening prayers, which is actually quite nice when you’re trying to concentrate. The walk from the main road isn't too long, but if it’s raining, the puddles around here can be a real pain to navigate. We’ve been at this location for a bit, and the office has that lived-in feel. There’s a stack of old magazines in the corner and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound if you turn it up to the highest setting. Most of us who work here live nearby, so we know the local shops pretty well. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to the temple, and sometimes they pop their heads in just to ask for directions. We don't mind. The desks are usually covered in notebooks and pens because there’s always something to write down. It’s a practical space. We don’t have any big flashy signs inside, just some old posters and a calendar that is usually a few days behind. It’s a comfortable enough place to spend the day, even if the air conditioning is a bit temperamental when the outside temperature really starts to climb. The staff usually brings lunch from home, and the smell of home-cooked food fills the room around noon.
