Sai College Of Education is based in Nawanshahr, which is on the way to Ludhiana. The college is a sturdy building that stands out a bit from the local houses. In this part of Punjab, the weather changes quite a bit, so we have thick walls to keep the heat out in the summer and the cold out in the winter. The students who come here are mostly looking to get their teaching qualifications. We have several classrooms that are usually filled with the sound of lectures and discussions. The hallways are wide and have posters about different educational topics pinned up. There is a small area where students sit and talk between their sessions, often sharing food they brought from home. The location in Nawanshahr is convenient because it is right on the main route to Ludhiana, so transport is usually not an issue. However, the winter fog can be quite thick here, and sometimes classes start a little late because of the visibility on the roads. We have a basic staff room where the lecturers sit and have their tea. It is a very down-to-earth environment where people come to do their work and then go home. We do not have any grand statues or fountains, just a functional building that serves its purpose for the local community. It is a quiet, hardworking place that feels like a normal part of life in the Ludhiana area.
