Zafar Brick Field

Zafar Brick Field is situated in Village Kudar, which is part of the Purwa Tehsil in Mahoba district. We are out on the road that connects Lucknow and Mourawan. It’s a very rural spot, surrounded by open land and small farms. Working here means being at the mercy of the seasons. We spend most of the year preparing the soil and molding the bricks. When the kiln is lit, someone has to stay with it all night to keep the temperature right. It’s a lot of work that people don’t really think about. We aren't a big city company; we are just local folks trying to make a living from the land. The road out here can be rough, especially after a heavy rain, but the trucks still manage to get through. We have a small hut that serves as our office where we drink tea and handle the orders. It’s a dusty environment, and our clothes are always stained with red earth. We’ve been in Kudar for a long time, and we know everyone in the nearby villages. Life here is slow and follows the rhythm of the brick cycles. We don't have a fancy mission or anything like that. We just make bricks and sell them to people who want to build something. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We just hope the monsoon isn't too harsh this year.
