Shiv Shakti Stone

We’ve been here at Shiv Shakti Complex for a good while now. It’s right on the Main Road in Gopalpuri, so it gets pretty busy with all the traffic passing through Alambagh. Mostly, we just deal with different kinds of stones. You’ll see slabs leaning against the walls and stacks of tiles everywhere. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything, just a place where we keep the stock and talk to people who need stuff for their houses. Some days it’s quiet, and other days three trucks show up at once and everything gets a bit chaotic. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, making the stones look different than they do in the morning light. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make space. It’s heavy work, honestly. My hands are usually dusty by ten in the morning. People come in looking for something specific, and we try to find it in the back. Sometimes we have exactly what they want, and sometimes we don't, but that’s just how it goes. We don't really do much advertising. People just see the sign when they’re driving towards the main market. It’s a straightforward setup. We open early, sweep the front, and start showing people what we have in the yard. It's a lot of lifting and shifting, but it keeps us busy enough throughout the week. It feels good to get a job done right.
