Karajgaon Farmer Agro Producer Company Limited is a local group based in the Latur district. Our office is actually at Vaman Dhondiram Jadhav’s house, which is House Number 172 in Karajgaon, Tq Ausa. Because we are based in a home, it feels very much like a family business, even though it’s a group of farmers working together. Latur is a tough place for farming sometimes because of the weather and the dry spells, but we’ve all been doing this for a long time. We decided to get together as a producer company so we could help each other out with the farming side of things. We don't have any polished marketing materials or a big sales team. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting on the porch or in the front room talking about the latest prices or the soil conditions in Ausa. We handle all our own paperwork and try to keep things as straightforward as possible. If a neighbor has a question about their crops, they just walk over to the house and we talk it through. We don’t use complicated English or business terms because that isn't who we are. We are just local people trying to make a go of it in a place where farming is the main way of life. It’s a lot of hard work and there aren't many breaks, but we’re used to it. We just take things as they come and try to stay honest with each other as we work the land.
