Sarvajanik High School

Sarvajanik High School has been part of Bhachau for a long time. It’s located in Kutch, where the weather can be quite tough, especially during the summer months. The building itself is simple, with sturdy walls and classrooms that have seen many years of students passing through. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations or modern gadgets, but the benches are solid and the blackboards get the job done. Every morning, you can see kids walking down the dusty roads to get to the gates. Some come from nearby, while others travel from further out in the district. It gets quite noisy when the bell rings for recess. The kids run out to the open area to play or just sit in the shade of the few trees we have. In Kutch, the wind can be strong, blowing sand into the hallways, so we are always sweeping. The staff here are mostly local people who know the families in town. We see the parents at the local shops or at the market on weekends. It’s not a complicated place. We just open up in the morning, do the lessons, and make sure the kids are safe. There isn’t any corporate feel here; it’s just a neighborhood school where everyone knows each other’s names. We deal with the usual problems like leaky taps or flickering lights, but we manage. The tea stall nearby always has people talking about the school. It’s a regular part of life in 370140.
