About Jainacharya Ajramar Shri Sarswati Madhyamik Vidhyalay – Education in Kutch
Gandhidham can be a dusty place, especially down around Ward 6/A and Rambaug Road. Our school stands right there, and we've gotten used to the noise of the traffic passing by throughout the day. It is a secondary school, so the students are a bit older and usually carry quite a few books in their bags. We have a simple setup. The classrooms have wooden benches that have seen better days, but they are sturdy enough for the teenagers who sit there. There is a small area where students park their cycles, and it usually gets pretty crowded by nine in the morning. The teachers here mostly live nearby, so they know the families and the neighborhood well. We don't have any big flashy signs, just the name on the wall like it’s always been. During the summer, the heat in Kutch is something else, so we make sure the water coolers are always full. The hallways stay mostly quiet once the classes start, except for the occasional sound of a teacher explaining a math problem or a history date. It is a very normal school where the routine doesn't change much from one year to the next. We open the doors, the kids come in, they study, and then they go home when the final bell rings. It’s just honest work for everyone involved in the building. It might not look like much from the outside, but it works for us.
