Government High School

This is the Government High School in Gandhidham. We are located right in the middle of the town and we serve the children coming from all over this local area. Being a government-run school means that we follow the state rules and we have to manage a large number of students every year. The building is a very typical one for this part of Gujarat, featuring long hallways and many different classrooms. It is a busy place from the very moment the first bell rings in the morning until the final bell at the end of the day. We have a big mix of students from different backgrounds here. The desks are quite old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but everything works just fine for what we need. We have a large open area in the center where the kids gather together for the morning assembly. Gandhidham is a place that has seen a lot of growth lately, but the school stays pretty much the same year after year. We deal with the usual challenges you find in any public school, like keeping up with the maintenance and managing large groups of energetic children. The teachers are kept busy most of the day with their scheduled classes and grading all the work that needs finishing. It is just a place of learning for the local community. We just keep things moving one day at a time.
