Sakarbai Khimji Ramdas Memorial School

This school is located in Madh, which is in the Kutch region. We're at number 45, right near the Gayatri Temple. It’s a long name, Sakarbai Khimji Ramdas Memorial School. Most people just know where we are because of the temple nearby. Kutch is a dry place, very dusty. The wind blows a lot of sand into the classrooms. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floors and cleaning the desks. The school building is old but sturdy. It’s been part of this community for a long time. We have children coming from the local area. Some walk quite a distance. The classrooms are simple. We have old wooden benches. They’ve seen better days, but they still work. The sun is very bright here, so we try to keep the windows shaded. It’s a quiet life in Madh compared to the big cities. We don't have much in the way of high-tech stuff. It’s just books, chalk, and talk. Sometimes the cows wander near the gate and we have to shoo them away. The teachers live nearby. We all know each other. It’s a small place, so news travels fast. We don't do anything special for publicity. The school is just there for the kids who need to learn. We follow the routine every single day. Monday to Saturday, the same thing. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
