Kakubhai Parikh School sits out on Survey 93 and 94 in the Meghpar Borichi area. It’s a bit away from the main rush of Gandhidham, which is nice because it’s a bit quieter for the kids. The site is pretty big, so there’s plenty of room to move around. We have these long corridors that seem to go on forever when you’re walking them every day. The wind blows quite a bit out here, and you can feel it coming across the open spaces. We spend a lot of time making sure the grounds are kept up, though the dust always finds its way back in. It’s a practical sort of place. We don’t have marble floors or anything like that. The classrooms are filled with wooden desks that have seen plenty of use over the years. Every morning, the sun hits the front of the building, and that’s when the first buses start rolling in. We have a lot of local staff who have been with us for years. They know the families and the siblings who come through here. It feels like a big, messy family sometimes. There’s always a project going on, like fixing a fence or organizing the library books. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the kids have their books and the teachers have their chalk. It’s just a normal school doing its thing in this part of Gandhidham.
