Sakarben Khimji Ramdas Memorial School

Our school is located on Windfarm Road in the Maska area of Mandvi. You can actually see the windmills spinning in the distance from some of the windows. It’s a very windy spot, especially in the evenings when the breeze comes off the sea. The building isn’t brand new, but it’s sturdy and keeps the sun out. Mandvi is a small place where people mostly know their neighbors, and the school reflects that. Many of the students walk here from Maska or take short rides from the main part of town. We have a playground that’s mostly sand and dirt, which is typical for this area. The kids don’t seem to mind getting their clothes a bit dusty during their breaks. Inside, the rooms are filled with the usual wooden benches and desks that have been around for a while. There’s a small office near the entrance where the paperwork gets done. It’s a quiet life here compared to the big cities. The teachers spend their time making sure the kids stay on track with their studies. We don’t have fancy equipment or high-tech gadgets in every corner. It’s just books, chalk, and a lot of talking. Sometimes when the wind is really strong, you can hear it whistling through the doors. It’s a familiar sound to everyone who lives out here near the coast. It’s just a normal school for the local kids in Mandvi.
