Aastha School sits right on Airport Road in Bhuj, within the Z N Patel Campus. It’s a busy area with planes occasionally flying overhead, which the younger kids still get excited about. We’ve been operating here for some time, and the campus has a lot of history to it. It’s not one of those ultra-modern schools with glass walls. We have regular brick buildings and windows that stay open to let the breeze in, though that also means a bit of dust from the Bhuj landscape gets in too. Our daily routine is pretty standard. We start early to beat the afternoon heat. The classrooms are filled with the usual wooden desks and boards. We have a mix of students from all over the local area. Some come from families who have lived in Kutch for generations. The staff room is usually a hub of activity with teachers swapping stories or planning for the next week's lessons. We don't have a massive cafeteria, so most kids bring their tiffins from home and eat together under the trees during lunch. It’s a very grounded environment. We try to keep things organized, but with hundreds of children running around, there’s always a bit of chaos. That’s just part of the charm of a local school. We aren't trying to be anything fancy; we just provide a place for kids to study and grow up.
