Navins

Navins is tucked away at 206 B on S. P. Mukherjee Road. We've been in Tollygunge for quite a few years now. The office isn't anything fancy, just a room with some old desks and a few chairs for whoever drops in. Most mornings start with unlocking the gate and turning on the fans because it gets pretty stuffy in here. You can hear the trams and the cars going by outside all day long. It's a busy part of town, so there's always something happening right out the front door. We mostly just keep to our work. There’s a stack of ledgers on my desk that I’ve been meaning to clear out, but they just keep growing. Our neighbors are nice enough, we usually see them during the lunch break. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know how things run around here. If someone calls, we pick up. If they walk in, we talk to them. It’s pretty straightforward. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the block. We just like being here in this neighborhood. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just sit and wait it out. It gives us a chance to catch up on local gossip. It’s a simple way to spend the day. Nothing too exciting happens, but we like the routine of it all. We've seen the street change quite a bit over the decades.
