Tata Steel : Procurement Division(Under Wipro Infotech)

We are located over on School Road in Sodpur, which is a busy little area in Kolkata. This office handles procurement for Tata Steel, working under Wipro Infotech, so things can get pretty hectic around here. We have a few different phone lines because the calls just don't seem to stop some days. Between the 09470392045 number and the landline, someone is always picking up a handset to talk to a supplier or check on an order status. It’s not the quietest office, but that’s just the nature of procurement work. We’ve got a lot of files and spreadsheets to keep track of everything coming in. Being at C-17, we’re right in the thick of it. The walk from the main road isn't too bad, though the West Bengal humidity can be a bit much in the summer months. We don't really go in for the big corporate atmosphere. It’s more of a practical space where we can sit down and get through the list of tasks. Sometimes we stay a bit late to make sure the paperwork for the next day is ready. There are about four of us who handle the main bulk of the work. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and most of the local couriers know exactly where to drop things off. It's just a regular office doing its part in the bigger chain. I guess it’s just how things work in this part of Kolkata.
