We operate out of Flat No 5C in the Ideal Residency on Manicktala Main Road. It is a residential-style building, so it is a bit quieter than a factory floor. We are part of the Stemcor Group from the UK, but we are based right here in Kolkata. The address is 179A/1A, and it is a fairly easy spot to find if you know the main road. Our office is not very large at all. It is mostly just desks, computers, and tall stacks of files everywhere. Since we deal with the international side of the business, there is often a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes the time difference with the UK means we stay a bit later than usual or get some calls at odd hours of the night. Kolkata weather can be tough with all the humidity, but the office stays okay with the fans. We drink a lot of tea while going through the piles of paperwork. It is not the kind of place where we have big displays of products for people to look at. It is more about the logistics and the coordination of everything. We have been in this flat for a while now. The elevators in the building can be very slow, so we often just take the stairs if we are in a hurry. Most of our neighbors are regular families. We just handle the business part of the steel group from here.
