We are over at 135 B.R.B. Basu Road. It is an old building in a part of town that has a lot of history. We deal in pig iron. It is not a glamorous business, but it is essential for the foundries and steel mills. The office is full of old files and the smell of paper. We spend most of our time on the phone, tracking shipments and talking to suppliers. The market for iron goes up and down, so there is always something to worry about. We do not have a modern glass office. Our desks are heavy wood and have been here longer than I have. People come in to settle accounts or talk about the latest prices. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We know our regulars by their voices before they even say their names. There is a lot of tea drinking and talking about how things used to be. We do not have a website that does much, we prefer doing things face to face or over a call. It is a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but we like the location. It is right in the heart of the trading district. We just keep our heads down and try to keep the iron moving. It is what we have always done at Allied Pig Iron. No fuss, just trade and keeping our word on the deals we make.
