Tata Blue Scope Steel-Tata Centre Kolkata, A Tatagroup Co.

We are based at 14D, 1/G, Dum Dum Road in Kolkata. Our name on the gate says Tata Blue Scope Steel-Tata Centre Kolkata, A Tatagroup Co. Being here on Dum Dum Road means it is always crowded and noisy outside. There are rickshaws and buses constantly going past. Our bit of the city, the Kolkata-30 area, is very old and has a lot of character. We are part of the larger group, but this office feels very local. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint and the fans hum all day long to keep the humidity away. We handle the West Bengal side of things from this small space. People sometimes struggle to find the 1/G entrance because the numbers on Dum Dum Road are a bit jumbled up. We have stacks of files everywhere and the smell of tea is usually in the air. It is a very typical Kolkata office environment. We don’t do much in the way of fancy meetings. Most of the time we are just checking orders or talking to the guys at the warehouse. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, but otherwise, we just keep a steady pace. It’s a honest place to work. We’ve been here at this address for a while and the tea stall guy around the corner knows exactly how we like our drinks.
