We’ve been doing this for a while now here at 42/1, S N Roy Road. Shahpur is a busy place and our kitchen stays pretty noisy most days. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a space where we get the cooking done. Usually, the day starts really early when the vegetable trucks come in. We spend a lot of time just chopping things and making sure the spices are right. Sometimes the floor is a bit wet from cleaning and there’s always a smell of onions in the air. We handle a lot of the local parties around here. People know us because we’ve been at this spot for years. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We don’t have a big marketing team. It’s mostly just us answering the phone and writing down orders in a notebook that’s seen better days. When a big event comes up, things get a bit chaotic in the back, but we manage to get the food out on time. The traffic on S N Roy Road can be a headache when we’re trying to load the vans. We try to keep things simple. No fancy talk, just making sure the rice is cooked right and the salt is okay. It’s a local business, run by local people who live around here. We just want to get the job done and go home at night.
